Picture
I think of myself as a practical artist. I love making things that we use every day. I love working with natural materials. My first medium was fabric:  cotton and wool, leather and linen but mostly wool. Lately I have taken up heavier materials: wood and stone, concrete and steel. Walls and windows, buildings and rooms are my new products.

I love old things. I am obsessed with the meaning of time in our lives and work. I thrill to the discovery of chisel marks in the stone window frame that I am currently working on. I just wish I could reach out and shake the hand of that skilled mason who made them. I know he could teach me a thing or two about rock work.

My colleagues and teachers in the following two institutions were formative to my life and creative work. They have become a part of my DNA and continue to inspire.
1989-2004 Pendleton Woolen Mills Womenswear Apparel Design Team
2004-2007- Portland State University- BS Degree in Architecture

And travel to some pretty great cities has been an important inspiration: New York, London, Hong Kong, Copenhagen, Paris and Milan, but mostly New York and London.

I sold my candles and holders last year (2014) at The Crossroads Art Gallery in Baker during the Holiday Season. My clothing designs for Pendleton Woolen Mills were sold in stores throughout the U.S, during my career at the company. I continue to work on my two Historic Buildings here in Burns: The Old Bakery (1929) and now The Old Hospital (1920).
